Description

Bringing peace into our lives is something within everyone’s reach. Meditation can be the most effective tool for finding peace of mind. The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center offers a two-week series with Julie Daigle called “Mind and Breath: Breathe more, focus more and stress less,” on April 6 & 13, 1:30-2:30 pm. These virtual sessions will examine the power of focusing on breath to guide your mind and heart into quieter, calmer, more restful states. Each week a different technique for accessing this will be explored. In the first session, “Breath and Meditation”, participants will experience a yoga-based practice that focuses the mind, helping to let go of internal distractions and mental chatter. Simultaneously, awareness of the peace within is encouraged through this practice.

During the second session, Julie leads a deeper dive into a connection of mind and breath, offering participants exposure to a path to health and healing through an ancient technique called “Yoga Nidra.” Yoga Nidra brings the expanded awareness characteristic of mindfulness, together with deep refreshing relaxation and profound release.

Julie Daigle brings to this session over 30 years of mindfulness and movement practice, and certification in many mind-body-spirit modalities, including several styles of yoga practice and tai chi. Julie is passionate about building interest and capacity for relaxing and slowing down as a preventative measure against disease and as balm for discomfort.
