After much consideration, the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center has decided to make this year’s 16th Ride for Life a virtual event. While we will miss the camaraderie of the annual Ride for Life event, moving to a virtual tour is a necessary measure to protect all the participants of this gathering, particularly those of our riders and volunteers who are immunocompromised.

By calling this event virtual, we simply mean that our donors will be asked to participate on their own schedules this year, riding alone to ensure the safety and health of everyone involved.

You can choose your own ride loction, distance, day(s) and time, going any where you want to go, on any day you choose. Or you can choose any of our preset rides - 100-mile, 50-mile, 20-mile, or 8-mile in and around the Blue Hill Peninsula, and take in the breathtaking scenery, get fit, raise money for a great cause. The only thing missing will be the Ride For Life gathering that the event has become known for, including the BBQ lunch, complete with lobster rolls, the music and fellowhip that we have all come to love!

Create your own fundraising page that will make it easy for you to reach out to family and friends and have them join your team or simply donate. If you want, our staff will be happy to create your fundraising page for you – if so, please call us at 207-664-0339 or visit the Center.

To enroll, register for the Ride and you can create your own webpage where friends can go to “make a donation” in your name. Registration is $40 for an individual or $50 for a family.

This undertaking is one of the Center’s critical fundraising events, and it is taking on even greater importance as we deal with the financial uncertainty brought on by the global pandemic. Events like the Ride are more important now more than ever. We hope you will join the Ride!
