Summary

This presentation on pelvic rehabilitation for men focuses on regaining control over pelvic and abdominal symptoms, enhancing quality of life, and returning to physical activities.

Description

A prostatectomy, the surgical removal of the prostate, is a common treatment option for men diagnosed with prostate cancer.  A common side effect following this surgery is urinary incontinence.  Pelvic rehab physical therapy can improve bladder control and optimize post-op recovery.   Men who participate in pelvic rehab usually regain better bladder control than those who do not, and the control occurs sooner rather than later.  Cadie Saucier DPT will explain natural, non-surgical treatments that aim to train the body how to help itself.

Cadie Saucier of Maine Coast Hospital in Ellsworth has extensive training for treatment of pelvic floor disorders and has a passion for helping people.

This is a free presentation.  Men diagnosed with prostate cancer and their caregivers are welcome.
