Summary

A new monthly walking group begins at the Beth Wright Center this summer with Jen Harry. Join us for some exercise and fun as we explore a walking meditation.

Description

With Jen Harry’s guidance learn how to cultivate awareness in the present moment through walking. Simply going for a walk can be a great opportunity to incorporate a mindfulness practice into your everyday routine. She will explain how this practice can reduce stress and enrich your life. A variety of walking meditation techniques will be shared each month that help us slow down in a busy world and relax. Walking meditation is good for both the body & the mind!

This offering will continue on the 3rd Friday of each month at 9:15 am - 10:00 am, meeting at the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center.

Jen Harry currently conducts a monthly mindfulness practice at the Center called “Tools for Well-Being.” She studied Psychology at Penn State as an undergraduate and has worked in the mental health field in various capacities over the past 20 years. During that time, she became interested in seeking tools, techniques & practices that could help people cope more effectively with life’s challenges. This led to her studies and certification in the Methods of Japanese Psychology, training in Mind-Body Techniques to reduce stress, and most recently, certification in Applied Positive Psychology (the science of human flourishing & optimal functioning) as well as a Resiliency Trainer.
